Tobacco helpline logoAre you thinking about quitting? Have you tried to quit and were unsuccessful? You are not alone! A lot of people have tried to quit and were unsuccessful, but they kept trying. It takes most people 5 - 7 times before they are successful. The more attempts you take to quit, the better chance you have to quit. We can help you quit for the first time, or help you quit again. The Maine Tobacco Helpline is also available to help you quit smoking at 1-800-207-1230. The Helpline provides free confidential counseling. If you do not have insurance, or your insurance does not cover nicotine replacement therapies (the "patch"), you may qualify for a voucher. By calling, you will receive a quit kit to help you get started. If you are ready to quit, counselors will help you set a quit date, give you ideas to help you cope with urges and triggers, and set up follow up phone calls to assist you further.
